Regional infrastructure funding announced in Hessen and Rheinland-Pfalz
The state of Hessen has approved 957,000 euros to support the reconstruction of a railway overpass in Gartenstraße, Bensheim. The project, which has total costs of approximately 14.6 million euros, is being co-funded by the city of Bensheim and Deutsche Bahn. The new structure will feature a six-meter-wide, two-lane roadway alongside pedestrian and bicycle paths to improve safety and traffic flow. Construction is expected to run from January 2026 through late 2027.
In Rheinland-Pfalz, the city of Ingelheim has been awarded 460,000 euros through the federal and state urban development program ‘Growth and Sustainable Development – Sustainable City’. These funds are designated for the Heidesheim district, specifically to enhance the design and functionality of the Flutgraben in the town center. This latest allocation is part of a broader support package totaling approximately 4.2 million euros provided to the area since 2016, aimed at improving living quality, climate protection, and urban infrastructure.
