Regional infrastructure projects advance in Potenza and Manfredonia

The Municipality of Potenza has approved the executive project for the redevelopment of the San Rocco Church forecourt and the reorganization of surrounding road spaces between Via Cavour and Via Appia. The project, costing approximately 200,000 euros, will be fully funded by the ‘Parco Ponte Nove Luci’ Consortium, incurring no additional costs for the municipal budget. Mayor Vincenzo Telesca noted that the administration prioritized reviving this long-standing project to improve religious, social, and identity-based spaces for the community.

In Manfredonia, the Port System Authority has defined a project for the recovery and repurposing of the Bacino Alti Fondali (BAF). While the announcement is seen as a positive step for the Capitanata region, local officials, including Foggia councilor Pasquale Cataneo, emphasize that the port's success depends on improved intermodality. Cataneo is calling for the revitalization and electrification of the Foggia-Manfredonia railway line to ensure efficient transport for both goods and passengers, arguing that the port cannot function effectively in isolation from a strategic rail network.
