Regional initiatives focus on youth reintegration and public policy

In Chile, the National Service for Juvenile Social Reintegration held its First Territorial Meeting to improve coordination between municipalities and collaborating agencies. The initiative aims to strengthen the reintegration of adolescents and young people, particularly the 80% who serve sanctions in a free environment. Rocío Faúndez, the national director of the service, emphasized the need for innovative measures to reach youth with complex histories of exclusion.

In Colombia, the Guaviare Departmental Assembly has summoned youth organizations to evaluate the implementation of the Public Youth Policy approved last year. Proposed by Deputy Ofelia Quitián, the hearing seeks to assess the impact of government programs and address issues such as psychoactive substance consumption. The session will allow youth platforms to present reports and proposals to ensure institutional accountability and effective resource use.
