Regional Kirchweih festivals scheduled in Langfurth and Limmersdorf

Several regional Kirchweih festivals are scheduled to take place in Germany in late August 2026.

In Langfurth, celebrations will run from August 27 to August 31. The timing of the event is traditionally determined by the Magnustag in relation to the consecration of the Ammelbruch Peterskirche. Local festivities include food and drink offerings at the ‘Grüner Baum’ and ‘Zweite Heimat’ inns, with the ceremonial tapping of the beer barrel scheduled for August 26.

Limmersdorf will host its Lindenkirchweih from August 29 to September 1. This long-standing regional tradition features dancing on a 300-year-old lime tree equipped with a specialized dance floor. The four-day program includes church concerts, parades, traditional music, and various culinary offerings, with free admission provided for all days.
