Regional leaders advocate for the restoration of passenger railway services

In Spain, municipalities along the Cartagena-Chinchilla line are demanding the reopening of passenger services, which have been suspended for four years. While freight trains continue to operate on the line, local leaders in Cartagena, Cieza, Archena, and Hellín argue that the suspension of passenger travel is an administrative decision. Local officials emphasize the impact on tourism and regional mobility, with the municipality of Cieza planning to formally demand the Ministry of Transport's immediate intervention.
