Regional legislatures in Batam and Magelang process 2026 budget amendments

The Batam City Regional House of Representatives (DPRD) has officially approved the 2026 regional budget (APBD) amendment. The revised budget increases from approximately Rp4.29 trillion to Rp4.59 trillion, representing an addition of roughly Rp294.35 billion in regional spending.

In Magelang Regency, the DPRD is currently discussing the 2026 APBD amendment. Various political factions have expressed views on the draft, emphasizing that the budget must serve as a real instrument for public welfare rather than just a compilation of figures. Factions have called for fiscal efficiency, infrastructure strengthening, and improved accountability in the face of decreasing central government transfer funds.
