Regional markets face price drops and infrastructure decline

Agricultural markets in the region are facing different challenges regarding supply and infrastructure. At the wholesale market in Tasočić, high temperatures and a surplus of goods relative to demand have led to falling prices and concerns over rotting produce. Wholesale tomato prices have dropped to between 1 and 2.50 KM, while peppers and eggplants are also seeing price reductions due to the high supply.

In contrast, the Branimirova market in Zagreb is experiencing a significant decline in activity and infrastructure. Once a major hub for various goods, the market is now largely empty with very few vendors remaining. While local officials have proposed revitalization projects, visitors and vendors observe that the market appears closer to demolition than renovation, with many stalls and businesses permanently closed.
