Regional medical conferences to address public health and aging

Two upcoming medical conferences in South America will focus on specialized healthcare challenges.

The Universidad Nacional de Itapúa (UNI) in Paraguay will host the III Congress of Public Health and Leadership on October 23 and 24. The event aims to analyze national sanitary challenges, covering disease prevention, health promotion, and programs for both communicable and non-communicable diseases. Dr. Claudio Díaz de Vivar, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at UNI, emphasized the importance of early diagnosis, specifically highlighting breast and prostate cancer awareness campaigns.

In Cipolletti, Argentina, the Universidad Nacional del Comahue (UNCo) will host the Fifth Patagonian Conference on Gerontology and Geriatrics. Scheduled for October 23 and 24, the conference will bring together specialists to discuss the physical, psychological, social, and economic dimensions of aging. Topics include palliative care, healthy habits, and the integration of gerontology and geriatrics to improve comprehensive care for the elderly.
