German museums reopening regional art exhibition science night cultural centre season local heritage events

A series of local cultural events opened across Germany in early 2026. At the Gymnasium Marktbreit, the "Lange Nacht der Wissenschaften" let fifth‑ and sixth‑grade students explore hands‑on physics and chemistry experiments.

The KUMA cultural and art centre in Oberschledorn resumed its season on 4 March, offering a new exhibition by Heike Born, a café and regular programme of workshops and gatherings.

The Förderverein for Kunst und Kultur Eiderstedt inaugurated the "Verbunden" exhibition by artists Ellen Ribbe and Jarvis Helwig on 17 May, showcasing drawings, paper sculptures and themed installations.

The Kreismuseum on the Bogenberg in the Straubing‑Bogen district reopened on Easter Sunday, 5 April, presenting regional history exhibitions, a continuing special exhibit on local clubs, and museum‑education programmes.

Finally, the restored wooden "Waldlerhaus" school museum in Fronau reopened for visitors on Easter, featuring guided tours, themed days such as International Museum Day and activities for school groups throughout the season.
