Regional mushroom festivals scheduled in Spain and Asturias

Various mycological events are being organized to promote the study and gastronomy of mushrooms. In Montemayor del Río, Salamanca, the 2026 Mycological Days will take place on October 17. Organized by Micocyl and Montes de Salamanca, the event includes guided field excursions, species identification, a showcooking session by Adrián Casado, and an educational lecture on recognizing edible species.

In Castrillón, the IV Mycological Days ‘El Yesqueru’ are scheduled from October 30 to November 1. The program features scientific outreach, a mushroom tapa culinary contest, and activities for children. The event includes a practical ecology class and field trip to Monte Grande, an exhibition of collected specimens, and educational workshops designed to encourage best practices in mushroom harvesting.
