Regional Music Projects Launch for Seniors in Austria and Germany

In the Austrian towns of Eibiswald, Gleinstätten and Bad Schwanberg, veteran musicians Sepp Jauk, Peter Strohmayer and Sepp Wabnegg have re‑formed as “Trio Leb’n”. The folk trio—known for Oberkrainer‑style music, dance and schlager—will focus on regional live performances, offering concerts for weddings, birthdays and local venues.

Meanwhile, in Bad Wörishofen, Germany, the “Silberton” project provides a hub where residents aged 50 and over can borrow musical instruments, join spontaneous sing‑along sessions and participate in community music making. The initiative, supported by Mayor Daniel Pflügl, aims to foster social connection and musical enjoyment for seniors.

Both programmes seek to strengthen local culture by making live music accessible to older adults and reviving traditional musical traditions in their respective regions.
