Regional nature tours offer insights into local bat species

Various regional locations are hosting evening educational events focused on local bat species.

At Tierpark Nordhorn, expert Laura Borg will lead guided tours for adults and children aged seven and older. The program includes using detectors to make ultrasonic bat calls audible to humans and provides advice on how to support bat populations in private gardens and buildings. The zoo has integrated habitats into its new zoo school building to support local wildlife.

In Burgpark Venhaus, a family-oriented bat evening is scheduled for September 4, 2026. Led by Mr. Weber, the event aims to teach participants about the lifestyle of bats and their ecological importance, offering attendees the chance to observe the nocturnal animals in their natural environment.
