Regional news updates from Santa Catarina and Paraná

Several regional developments have been reported in southern Brazil. In Santa Catarina, the Civil Defense has issued a weather alert for potential storms, hail, and strong winds starting Sunday, with risks increasing on Monday across all regions of the state.

The Santa Catarina Military Firefighters Corps (CBMSC) celebrated its 100th anniversary in Florianópolis with a major ceremony. The event included the graduation of 653 new soldiers and honors for the institution's longest-serving members and its first commander.

In Paraná, the Civil Police graduated 90 new officers, including delegates, judicial police agents, and papiloscopists, to reinforce investigations and public service, with the majority of the force being deployed to the state's interior.

Additionally, in Xaxim, Santa Catarina, the Military Police responded to an animal cruelty case involving a dog kept in unsanitary conditions without food or water. A 56-year-old man was taken to a police station following the incident.
