Koprivnica hosts 19th Renaissance Festival with 1,300 participants

The 19th Renaissance Festival has officially opened in Koprivnica, Croatia, transforming the city's ramparts into a historical living museum. The event features over 1,300 costumed participants from 13 European countries, as well as performers from Venezuela and Chile.

Attendees can experience medieval life through knightly tournaments, sword fighting, horse shows, and traditional crafts. This year's theme focuses on hygiene, showcased through alchemists and natural product demonstrations. The festival also includes a dedicated children's area with handmade wooden toys and interactive games.

High-profile attendees at the opening included Croatian Foreign Minister Gordan Grlić Radman and local officials. The program features diverse entertainment, including medieval music, fire shows, and musical performances by artists such as Sergej Ćetković and Prljavo Kazalište. The festival is expected to draw tens of thousands of visitors over its four-day duration.
