Regional photography exhibitions to showcase historical heritage
Various cultural institutions are launching photography exhibitions to showcase regional history and heritage.
In Guadalajara, Fundación Ibercaja is celebrating its 150th anniversary with an exhibition titled ‘La Guadalajara que fuimos. 150 años de ilusión compartida’. Running from September 10 to October 2, the collection features historical photographs of the city and province, documenting its evolution, local trades, and traditions. The project was developed in collaboration with the Provincial Historical Archive and the Municipal Archive of Guadalajara. Additionally, the center will host ‘Luz y Presencia’ by photographer Ángel Pérez, focusing on nature photography.
In Celaya, Mexico, the Instituto de Arte y Cultura de Celaya will inaugurate a photographic exhibition titled ‘Pasado, Recuerdo y Conmemoración’ on September 1. Located in the Jardín Principal, the display will run until October 6. The collection aims to illustrate how Celaya has commemorated National Independence through various eras, utilizing public and private collections to connect local identity with patriotic festivities.
