Regional political candidates address municipal service and infrastructure challenges

In San Juan de la Maguana, Dominican Republic, mayoral candidate Rufino Rodriguez has proposed improving municipal services. Representing the Partido Quisqueyano Demócrata Cristiano, Rodriguez plans to reintroduce waste collection containers across various sectors to address the needs of growing urban areas. His platform also includes enhancing street cleaning, sidewalk maintenance, and the upkeep of green spaces.

In Querétaro, Mexico, Santiago Nieto Castillo, a coordinator for the Morena party, identified four critical challenges facing the state: water scarcity, public security, mobility, and housing costs. Nieto emphasized the need for better water catchment and purification mechanisms due to high pressure on resources. Regarding mobility, he suggested strengthening Querétaro as a railway node to improve regional movement. Nieto noted that he is currently identifying issues rather than presenting formal government proposals to avoid premature campaigning ahead of the 2027 elections.
