Regional political meeting in Criciúma draws major party leaders ahead of 2026 elections

On Thursday night, political leaders from the PSD, MDB, Progressistas and União Brasil gathered at the Germano Rigo Events Center in Criciúma, Santa Catarina. Attendees included PSD pre‑candidate for state governor João Rodrigues, MDB pre‑candidate for vice‑governor Carlos Chiodini, MDB Senate pre‑candidate Antídio Lunelli, and Progressistas senator Esperidião Amin, along with numerous deputies, mayors and other regional figures. The meeting focused on dialogue among parties, exchange of experiences and coordination ahead of the 2026 electoral cycle.

Organizers noted that the event reinforced political mobilisation and alliance‑building among the parties in the state, aiming to shape the upcoming contests for governor, vice‑governor, senate and municipal offices.
