Regional programs expand social inclusion services for people with disabilities
Various regional initiatives are being implemented to promote social inclusion and support for people with disabilities.
In Chivilcoy, Argentina, the Municipal Disability Directorate is conducting the ‘Sembrando Vínculos en Comunidad’ program. This initiative focuses on active participation and community integration through recreational activities, such as recent events involving circus arts and social gatherings. The program aims to provide tools for emotional management and physical movement while ensuring people with disabilities are active participants in daily community life.
In Mao, Valverde, Dominican Republic, the National Disability Council (Conadis) held the ‘Conadis Para Todos’ social inclusion day at the Universidad Autónoma de Santo Domingo. The event provided families with access to disability registration, certification guidance, and assistive devices. Additionally, the initiative offered medical consultations in specialties such as pediatrics, cardiology, ophthalmology, and dentistry, alongside vaccination services and social protection guidance.
