Regional programs promote family involvement for child development

Regional initiatives in Chile and Mexico are focusing on strengthening family bonds and values to support child and adolescent development.

In the Biobío Region of Chile, Dr. Paulina Rincón González from the University of Concepción led a seminar for 82 professionals involved in the JUNAEB ‘Skills for Life’ Program. The workshop, titled ‘Protective Bonds and Executive Functions: Keys to Child and Adolescent Mental Health,’ aimed to enhance the technical skills of teams working in educational settings. The sessions focused on the importance of affective family relationships and executive functions in promoting mental health and integral development.

In San Juan del Río, Mexico, the Querétaro State Secretariat of Social Development (SEDESOQ), in collaboration with the Basic Education Services Unit (USEBEQ), conducted the ‘Educating with Values’ talk. Aimed at parents benefiting from the School Transport Program, the initiative sought to foster dialogue regarding family participation in the holistic formation of youth. The program emphasizes the collaboration between educational institutions, families, and government to improve student development and social coexistence.
