Regional reforestation efforts expand in Michoacán and Puebla

Regional authorities in Michoacán and Puebla are conducting large-scale reforestation efforts to mitigate environmental impact and restore natural ecosystems.

In Michoacán, Governor Alfredo Ramírez Bedolla led a planting session near the Morelia-Charo border as part of the Morebús project's sustainability commitments. Officials planted 2,500 trees, bringing the total for the Segundo Anillo Periférico area to 36,000 specimens. The state administration aims to reach a goal of 50 million trees reforested during the current term.

In Puebla, the Secretary of Environment, María de los Ángeles Ballesteros, reported that 177,000 trees have been planted so far in the Sierra Nevada and Atoyac River regions. Recent efforts in Xiutetelco included the planting of 3,000 pine trees and 1,000 magueys. The state government has committed to planting 2 million trees across Puebla to recover green spaces and combat ecological deterioration.
