Regional savings banks launch new apprenticeship programs

Regional savings banks in Germany and Luxembourg have welcomed new cohorts of trainees and students for the new academic year.

Sparkasse Schweinfurt-Haßberge in Germany started 25 new apprentices and dual students on September 1, 2026. This brings their total number of trainees to 55. CEO Peter Schleich noted that these young talents bring new perspectives and skills necessary to meet future challenges. The program focuses on practical learning and individual support to develop qualified specialists for customer advisory roles.

In Rottweil, Kreissparkasse welcomed 18 new trainees and students starting September 7. The group consists of nine bank clerks, six financial assistants, and three business administration students specializing in banking. CEO Christian Kinzel stated that the trainees will help shape the future of the institution while supporting customers with financial topics. The training program includes rotations through various departments, including branches, payment transactions, controlling, credit, and securities trading.
