Regional security and housing compliance updates in Chile and Colombia
In Chile, the Ministry of Housing and Urbanism conducted inspections at the Villa Parque San Martín housing complex in Rengo. Officials from Serviu O’Higgins inspected 64 of the 202 properties to ensure that state-subsidized homes are being occupied by the intended beneficiary families. The operation identified several unoccupied homes and properties inhabited by individuals not listed in the original family groups. Authorities have issued notifications, and Serviu will begin reviewing each case to determine if violations occurred.
In Colombia, authorities in Sonsón and La Unión are coordinating security measures following the incineration of a public service bus in the Altavista sector. Local mayors, the National Police, and the National Army conducted a joint verification visit to the area. To support surveillance, the Colombian Air Force performed flyovers of both municipalities. The Antioquia Governorate has announced a reward of up to 200,000,000 pesos for information leading to the identification of those responsible for the incident.
