Regional social care facilities open in Slovakia and Czech Republic

Regional governments in Slovakia and the Czech Republic are expanding social care infrastructure to address aging populations and the needs of individuals with disabilities.

In the Prešov Region of Slovakia, the regional government has completed a new supported living facility in Stropkov. The 322-square-meter building is designed to provide a sense of security and independence for 12 clients. This project is part of a broader regional investment strategy that includes modernizing facilities in Bijacovce for patients with Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s diseases, as well as ongoing renovations in Prešov.

In the South Bohemian Region of the Czech Republic, a new residential facility has been completed by the organization Bazalka. Supported by an 8-million CZK contribution from the regional government, the barrier-free, low-energy building will house 18 residents aged 10 to 50 who have combined disabilities or autism spectrum disorders. The facility is divided into four separate households, each providing private rooms and specialized spaces for physiotherapy and professional care.
