Regional sporting events promote youth engagement and mental health recovery

Various regional sporting events have taken place, focusing on community engagement and social inclusion. In Sandakan, Malaysia, the 2026 Indoor Football Invitational, organized by the Youth Organization Sandakan branch, concluded with an emphasis on teamwork and youth participation. Sandakan Member of Parliament Evelyn Foo encouraged young people to use sports to expand their social circles and build character.

In Tainan, Taiwan, the 32nd National Phoenix Cup for Friends of Recovery opened at Kun Shan University. The event brought together 698 athletes from 24 teams across the country. Organized by the Chiannan Sanatorium, the games serve as a platform for individuals recovering from mental health challenges to promote social reintegration, physical health, and self-confidence through athletic competition.
