Regional sports associations in Portugal celebrate milestones

The Associação de Futebol de Viseu is celebrating its centenary, marking 100 years of history in the Viseu district. The institution has been central to the region's football and futsal culture, supported by generations of players, coaches, and officials. Key developments include the establishment of the District Football Academy in Mundão, a project initiated under former president Dr. José Alberto Ferreira and continued under current president Prof. José Carlos Lopes.

In Vila Real, the Grupo Desportivo e Cultural Vila Seca is marking 45 years since its founding in 1981. Originally started by a small group of youths meeting in a neighbor's pantry, the association has evolved into a significant community hub for social activities and local gathering in the village of Vila Seca.
