Regional sports events held in Cirebon and Semarang

In Indonesia, several regional sporting events are underway. The Sagara Haornas Cup 2026, a student development basketball tournament, is being held from October 18–21 at the Sport Hall Bima in Cirebon. The competition features 28 teams from 18 schools across the Cirebon, Indramayu, Majalengka, Kuningan, Sumedang, and Pangandaran regions. To encourage new talent, the tournament prohibits players who have previously participated in regional or provincial sports meets (Popwil, Popda, or Porprov).

Meanwhile, the Semarang City contingent has officially launched its campaign for the XVII Central Java Provincial Sports Week (PORPROV) 2026. Mayor Agustina Wilujeng Pramestuti released 845 athletes who will compete in 57 sports branches from October 25–30. The city aims to secure 190 gold medals to defend its title as overall champion, following its previous success in the 2023 games.
