Regional sports festivals scheduled for October 2026 in Japan

Various regional sports festivals are scheduled to take place in Japan during October 2026.

In Ichikawa City, Chiba Prefecture, the 9th Ichikawa Sports Festa will be held on October 12 at the J:COM Kita-Ichikawa Sports Park. The event features former Japanese national football player Yuji Nakazawa, who will lead a soccer clinic for elementary school students. Other activities include tennis and soft tennis lessons with professional instructors, baseball clinics hosted by Chiba Lotte Marines Academy coaches, and basketball experiences led by Chiba Jets academy coaches. The festival also offers diverse activities such as floor hockey, pickleball, and walking soccer for adults.

In Awara City, Fukui Prefecture, the “AWARA-n Pick” sports festival is set for October 4 at Trim Park Kanazu. The event focuses on local sports culture and includes team competitions like relay races and large-rope jumping. A new “Spotech Park” will debut, integrating digital technology with physical activity through laser-based challenges. The festival will also feature street sports like skateboarding and parkour, alongside performances from local taiko and brass band groups.
