Regional sports festivals launch in Gia Lai and Ca Mau

Various regional sports events are taking place across Vietnam. In Gia Lai, the first Sports Festival of Competition Group 8 for 2026 opened at the Pleiku Sports Training and Competition Center. More than 100 athletes from eight different units, including lottery and water supply companies, are competing in badminton, table tennis, and pickleball.

In Ca Mau, the province has launched its first Provincial Sports Festival of 2026. Running from September 20 to October 9, the event aims to promote physical fitness and identify talent for the 10th National Sports Festival. Due to local administrative structures and geographic challenges, grassroots competitions were organized into 16 clusters, involving all 64 communes and wards. Provincial departments and agencies have organized various tournaments attracting over 12,000 athletes.
