Regional sports programs launch in Manilva and Valdeorras

Various regional sports initiatives are launching for the upcoming season in Spain. In Manilva, the municipal sports department has announced its 2026/27 program, which includes specialized activities for children, adults, and seniors. The municipal schools for children will offer disciplines such as handball, football, padel, and volleyball, while adult programs include fitness, dance, and various gym-based activities.

In the Valdeorras region, Agustín González, president of ADAS Barco, is promoting the Xogade program to increase engagement with athletics among schoolchildren. The initiative aims to present athletics as a multi-faceted sport beyond just running through playful, participatory sessions. The program maintains much of its previous structure but introduces distinctions between school-hour activities and weekend sessions to better integrate educational centers.
