General Caballero JLM secures promotion to Paraguayan First Division
General Caballero JLM has officially secured its return to the Paraguayan First Division after finishing as runners-up in the 2026 División Intermedia. The team clinched promotion following a 0-0 draw against 12 de Junio de Villa Hayes at the Ka’arendy Stadium.
Under the management of Humberto “Loro” Ovelar, General Caballero finished the campaign with 57 points, recording 17 wins, 6 draws, and 7 losses. The result was sufficient to guarantee their ascent to the top flight for the 2027 season, just one year after their relegation. While the draw sufficed for the Mallorquín-based club, 12 de Junio required a victory to achieve promotion but was unable to break through the defensive strategy deployed by the hosts.
In the same division, Deportivo Santaní has already secured the championship title.
