Regional sports tournaments conclude in Dongguan and Shanghai

Various regional sports events concluded in late August across the Greater Bay Area and mainland China. In Dongguan, the 2026 GREE Central Air Conditioning Cup Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Air Volleyball Invitational concluded on August 23. The Macau Women's Middle-Aged Air Volleyball Team secured seventh place out of 12 competing teams, participating in a tournament organized by the Guangdong Provincial Volleyball Association, the Hong Kong Volleyball Association, and the Macau Volleyball Association.

In Shanghai, the 11th annual Adidas “Huopin” Grassroots Basketball League national finals took place on August 23. The team Xionggan 1122 claimed the national championship. The event featured NBA player Jalen Williams, who participated in shooting challenges and interacted with local players. The tournament included teams from various regions, including representatives from Zhejiang University, the Chinese University of Hong Kong, and National Taiwan Normal University.
