Regional sports tournaments launch in Puerto Real and San Francisco

In Puerto Real, Spain, the first Villa de Puerto Real Petanque Tournament was held from September 18 to 20 at the El Porvenir gardens. The event, supported by the local government and the Diputación, saw the ‘Nakama’ team take first place, followed by ‘Tierra Media’ and ‘Para lo que hemos quedado’. Due to the positive reception and the sport's perceived health benefits, local authorities are considering including petanque in the municipal educational offer to encourage participation among younger generations.

In San Francisco, Argentina, the inaugural Zona Sur Padel Tournament is scheduled for September 25 to 27. This competition is a collaborative effort between three local clubs: San Isidro, La Bancaria, and Complejo 5 Estrellas. The organizers aim to establish a monthly tournament circuit with a ranking system to track player performance over time. The event includes various categories for men, women, and mixed pairs.
