Regional sports updates: Futsal quarterfinals in Nariño and student achievements in Casanare

The Mil Ciudades futsal tournament has reached the quarter-final stage in El Peñol, Nariño. Eight teams have qualified for this phase, including representatives from Sandoná, Colón, Taminango, Esmeraldas, Túquerres, Policarpa, and two teams from El Peñol (A and B). The competition aims to determine the departmental champion who will represent Nariño in the national phase of the tournament.

In separate regional sports news, student-athletes from Yopal achieved significant success in the departmental phase of the Juegos Intercolegiados shot put events. In the Pre-Juvenile Female category, Yopal athletes secured a complete podium sweep, with Sara Bautista taking gold, followed by Sofía Castro in second and Victoria Castro in third. In the Juvenile Male category, Jerónimo Becerra won the gold medal.
