Regional think tanks address Sahel disinformation as French healthcare income trends emerge

The Consortium for Economic and Social Research (CRES) participated in the Knowledge Fair organized by the Global Development Network in Dakar, Senegal, from May 15 to 16, 2024. The event focused on the theme of “Disinformation and governance challenges in the Sahel.” Seventeen regional think tanks attended to exchange experiences and discuss strategies for working in contexts of disinformation. CRES researchers participated in panels and capacity-building workshops aimed at improving communication skills for young Sahelian researchers.

In France, data from the Direction of Research, Studies, Evaluation, and Statistics (Drees) shows varying income trends for private healthcare professionals between 2017 and 2021. While dentists, physiotherapists, and nurses saw moderate increases, midwives experienced the highest growth rate at 6.3% per year. This increase is attributed to tariff revaluations, alignment with gynecologist fees for certain procedures, and the introduction of new billable acts since 2019.
