Regional tourism and cultural festivities prepare for upcoming seasonal starts

Tourism and local festivities are preparing for upcoming seasonal activities in South America. At the Cuesta del Viento dam in Argentina, service providers are finalizing preparations for the high season, which is scheduled to officially begin on October 12. Local tourism representative Alejandro Montaño noted high expectations due to improved water levels caused by increased rainfall and mountain snowmelt, which will allow for the use of beach areas previously restricted by drought.

In Alto Hospicio, Chile, the “18 Chico” festivities are set to begin on October 1. The four-day event features live music, folklore, and gastronomy with free admission. This celebration serves as a recovery opportunity for local vendors following weather-related disruptions, such as strong winds and sandstorms, that impacted traditional September festivities.
