Regional tourism expands through Manjača recreation and Vojvodina wellness spas
Regional tourism is seeing a focus on natural and health-based destinations in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia. In the Banjaluka region, officials are working to position Manjača as a year-round destination. Aleksandra Simić from the Department for Economy and Local Economic Development noted that the area offers diverse opportunities, including winter skiing, summer activities at Lake Šljivno, and events like the Dragon Boat festival and the Alfa Trail race.
In Serbia, the Vojvodina region highlights Banja Rusanda and Banja Slankamen as key wellness destinations. Banja Rusanda, located near Melenci, specializes in treating rheumatic, dermatological, and neurological conditions using thermal springs and medicinal mud. Banja Slankamen, situated on the Danube, utilizes mineral waters for similar therapeutic purposes, offering visitors a combination of medical treatments and outdoor activities such as sailing and fishing.
