Regional tourism initiatives launched in Calabria and Abruzzo

New tourism and cultural initiatives are being promoted in the Italian regions of Calabria and Abruzzo. In Calabria, the Associazione Ferrovie in Calabria has launched a new 'Railtour' itinerary as part of the 'Viaggia in Treno e Scopri la Calabria' project. This initiative uses a combination of Trenitalia regional trains and bus transfers to transport visitors from Catanzaro Lido and Reggio Calabria Centrale to the historic village of Pentedattilo. The tour includes guided visits to the area's historical, architectural, and natural landmarks. Due to high demand, the upcoming October 25 excursion is already sold out, prompting the announcement of a new date in November.

In the province of Chieti, Abruzzo, the 27th edition of the 'Borgo Rurale' festival is scheduled for November 7 and 8 in Treglio. The event focuses on local agricultural products, including new wine, chestnuts, and olive oil. The festival takes place within the historic center, where local wineries and oil mills located in residential houses serve as tasting venues. Visitors can also view historical frescoes on the facades of the village's buildings.
