Regional tourism initiatives launched in Rieti and Emilia-Romagna

In Rieti, the “Trekking Urbano” project continues its collaboration between the city and Siena, focusing on the spiritual and natural heritage of the Valle Santa. On October 31, a 12 km walking route will depart from Piazza Mariano Vittori toward the Fonte Colombo sanctuary. The event, organized by the Municipality of Rieti in partnership with the Club Alpino Italiano (CAI) and civil service volunteers, aims to promote sustainable tourism through the paths once traveled by Saint Francis.

In the Emilia-Romagna region, the Trebbia cycle path has been integrated into the “Ciclovie dei Parchi” project. This 50 km loop around Piacenza traverses hills, plains, and riverbanks, connecting historical sites such as the Piacenza Duomo and the Madonna del Castello sanctuary. The route is designed to combine environmental protection with soft mobility, highlighting the area's geological importance, such as the Croara geosite, and its role as a habitat for migratory birds.
