Regional transport updates in Chile and university infrastructure delivery in Spain
Regional authorities in Atacama, Chile, are working to accelerate new public transportation systems for Caldera and Tierra Amarilla, with a target operational date of 2027. The initiative involves the Subsecretaría de Transportes y Telecomunicaciones to streamline technical and administrative processes. The project for Caldera includes a system with five routes and 17 buses, while Tierra Amarilla aims to extend the electric bus system currently operating in Copiapó.
In Spain, the Junta de Andalucía has officially handed over the Fuentenueva campus university pool to the University of Granada (UGR). Following a 5.3 million euro investment and a testing phase, the facility is intended to serve as a space for health, sports, and research. The project serves as a compensatory measure for the impact of Granada metro works on university property.
