Regional updates: Infrastructure in Jujuy, new park in Madryn, and pollution protests in Minga Guazú

In Argentina, the Jujuy Infrastructure Secretariat is advancing a project to renovate urban stairs at seven locations in the capital to improve pedestrian circulation and neighborhood connectivity. Three interventions are complete, while others, such as the connection between Villa San Martín and the city center, have reached 75% progress. Works include new sidewalks, railings, lighting, and drainage improvements.

In Puerto Madryn, Mayor Gustavo Sastre inaugurated a new calisthenics park at Bajada 9. This addition to the municipal beach area aims to strengthen the city’s position as a national destination for beach sports and provide free recreational spaces for residents and tourists.

Meanwhile, in Minga Guazú, Paraguay, residents of the Brisas del Monday neighborhood are protesting against a private property allegedly used as a clandestine sewage disposal site. Approximately 150 families report that trucks arrive daily to discharge untreated wastewater into improvised pools, causing foul odors and attracting pests. Neighbors are calling for immediate intervention from environmental authorities.
