In college football, the Arizona Wildcats began their season with a 35-7 victory over the Northern Arizona Lumberjacks. On the recruiting front, the Wildcats have secured 18 members for their 2027 class.

High school football players in Hawaii, Illinois, and Indiana are currently being nominated for ‘Player of the Week’ honors following the first full weekend of September. Notable nominees include Hunter Carley (Richmond-Burton) with 331 rushing yards in Illinois, and Cole Stephens (Greensburg) who recorded 442 passing yards and six touchdowns in Indiana.

In Iowa, high school volleyball season leaders have been identified. Kaylee Webb of West Burlington leads in kills with 190, while Nora Wilhelm of Iowa City Regina Catholic leads in assists with 308.
