Regional utility updates: Waste management tours and heating preparations

Residents from Vukmanić, Cerovca Vukmanićkog, and Tušilovići recently toured the newly constructed Babina gora Waste Management Center. Organized by KODOS, the visit aimed to familiarize the local community with the facility's technologies, waste processing methods, and disposal procedures. During the tour, residents inspected the mechanical-biological waste treatment plant, non-hazardous and inert waste landfills, and the wastewater treatment unit. Local concerns primarily focused on the composting plant and potential odors caused by wind.

In Vogošća, officials held a meeting with citizens regarding preparations for the upcoming heating season and the status of the Bags Energotehnika company. The Sarajevo Canton Ministry of Communal Economy has secured 1.2 million KM to support these efforts. While the company aims to begin thermal energy delivery by October 15, technical teams identified significant issues with the heat pipeline, reporting daily water losses of 200 cubic meters. Repairs are underway to ensure the system is functional before winter. Additionally, the construction of a new boiler house is proceeding, pending the adoption of regulatory plan amendments by the Vogošća Municipality.
