Regional youth sports competitions held in Romania and Moldova

Various regional sports activities are taking place across Romania and Moldova to promote active lifestyles among youth.

In Săcueni, Romania, 123 children participated in the #BeActive program as part of the European Week of Sport 2026. Organized by the Bihor County Directorate for Sport and Youth in partnership with Petőfi Sándor Theoretical High School, the three-day event included table tennis, cycling, and a pentathlon. The program emphasized inclusion, providing medals and diplomas to all participants, including students from disadvantaged backgrounds.

In Chișinău, Moldova, over 500 athletes are participating in three major competitions held between September 25 and 27. These include the Chișinău Open Road Cycling Championship, a tennis championship at the National Tennis Center featuring participants from U8 to senior levels, and a streetball tournament held in memory of Alexei Elizarov. The events aim to support high-performance athletes and encourage physical activity among local youth.
