Chilean Government allocates $1.37 billion for Araucanía border complexes

The Chilean government has approved a budget supplement of more than $1.376 billion for the Border Complex Administration Program in the Araucanía region. The investment is designed to strengthen the operational conditions and infrastructure of four strategic border crossings: Mamuil Malal in the Cautín province, and Icalma, Liucura, and Pino Hachado in the Malleco province.

The funds will be used to acquire machinery, equipment, and to cover consumption goods and services. According to the presidential delegate, this allocation is intended to enhance international connectivity, security, and the economic and touristic development of the region by ensuring border crossings are fully operational and adequately equipped.
