Regionalliga Bayern confirms 17 clubs for 2026‑27 season
Following the conclusion of the promotion and relegation playoffs, the 17 clubs that will compete in the Regionalliga Bayern for the 2026‑27 season have been confirmed. Würzburger Kickers earned promotion to the 3. Liga after beating Lok Leipzig, while FC Schweinfurt 05 will return to the Regionalliga after a single season in the third tier. Direct relegations saw SpVgg Hankofen‑Hailing and Viktoria Aschaffenburg drop from the Regionalliga, and the reserve side of SpVgg Greuther Fürth retained its place after winning its relegation matches. The newly promoted clubs include SC Eltersdorf (Bayernliga Nord champions) and TSV Landsberg (Bayernliga Süd runners‑up). A pending economic issue concerns TSV 1860 München, which must prove a €2.7 million licensing gap by 3 June to retain its 3. Liga license; the DFB decision is expected on 3 June.
