Regionalverband Ruhr hires week‑long 'Haldenwärter' on Halde Hoheward
The Regionalverband Ruhr (RVR) launched a media‑driven campaign to recruit a "Haldenwärter" – a caretaker who will spend a week living in a tiny house on the 152‑metre high Halde Hoheward, located between Herten and Recklinghausen. The post pays €5,000 for seven days and is open to any applicant regardless of gender or residence. Participants will perform tasks such as looking after a robo‑sheep and inspecting sunrise views, while documenting their experience on social‑media platforms.
Comedienne Luisa Charlotte Schulz, who reaches over 100,000 followers, will accompany and film the chosen caretaker. Applications close on 9 August, after which Schulz will select the winner.
The initiative is part of the broader "Das Ruhrgebiet. Hier bleibt alles anders" location campaign aimed at portraying the Ruhr region as innovative and attractive to young people.
