Regione Liguria funds €278,000 renovation of Tavarone sports field

On 30 July 2026, the Liguria regional administration presented a renovation project for the sports field in Tavarone, attended by infrastructure assessor Giacomo Raul Giampedrone, mayor Egidio Banti, Virtus Entella general manager Matteo Matteazzi and representatives of GS Tavarone.

The plan provides roughly €278,000 from Regione Liguria and an additional €119,000 from GS Tavarone. Work is scheduled to begin in September and will upgrade the facility so it can continue hosting the preseason training camp of Serie B club Virtus Entella and serve local sporting and tourism activities in the Val di Vara.

Vice‑president of sport Simona Ferro described the field as a key reference point for sport practice and regional tourism, highlighting the region’s commitment to modernise infrastructure and promote social cohesion through sport.
