Registered Agents Inc launches Astronym domain registry

Registered Agents Inc is launching Astronym, a new domain registry infrastructure designed to provide an independent alternative to investor-owned or publicly traded registry solutions. Led by Christopher Ambler, the Director of Domain Registry, the initiative aims to offer more control to TLD operators, registrars, and sovereign registries.

The company has applied for several new top-level domains (TLDs), including .epic, .identity, .mark, .private, .registeredagent, and .verified. The .epic application follows Registered Agents Inc’s 2022 acquisition of the domain registrar Epik.

Beyond managing its own domains, Registered Agents Inc intends to use Astronym to provide back-end services to other operators. The company is actively seeking partnerships and exploring the acquisition of existing registries to expand its business-to-business infrastructure.
