Registrul Auto Român rejects vehicles due to dangerous technical violations
The Romanian Auto Registry (RAR) has highlighted several severe vehicle safety violations discovered during technical inspections in Botoșani and Caraș-Severin.
In Botoșani, inspectors examined a Dacia Dokker found to be in extremely poor condition, featuring broken seats and significant technical issues. Most notably, the owner had installed wooden logs in place of overload bumpers, a dangerous improvisation intended to allow the vehicle to carry weight far exceeding its designed capacity. RAR officials stated the vehicle would not be allowed back on the road in its current state due to the risks posed to braking efficiency and overall safety.
In Caraș-Severin, a separate inspection of an off-road vehicle revealed that the owner had removed the rear brake lines and replaced the exhaust with a makeshift pipe secured by only two screws. This vehicle had originally been flagged for the removal of a bullbar, but a full inspection revealed these critical mechanical failures. In both instances, RAR emphasized that comprehensive inspections are necessary to identify hidden hazards that threaten road safety.
