Regulatory updates in Romania and Moldova address archives and insurance

In Romania, a project to modify Government Decision no. 1376/2009 aims to reorganize the National Archives. The modification seeks to eliminate salary inequalities by changing the status of county-level services. Previously, these services were considered territorial structures, but under the new proposal, employees will be salaried at the central apparatus level. This move follows legal disputes where the organization ProLex won several court cases regarding the incorrect application of laws that led to improper compensation.

In Moldova, the National Bank of Moldova has initiated public consultations regarding a draft decision to amend several normative acts. The proposed changes target regulations concerning the audit of insurance and reinsurance companies, as well as regulations regarding equity, asset and liability evaluation, and solvency requirements. The adjustments aim to refine the approval process for audit entities by updating requirements for practical experience, theoretical knowledge, and documentation standards.
